My name is Mr. Douglas Kirst and I have been teaching Science in one shape or another for over thirty years. I am originally from Buffalo, NY by way of Dunkirk, NY. My wife and I moved to Rochester back in the 1980's. We are both involved in the educational field; she at the college level and I at the high school and college level. I am an adjunct professor at the University of Rochester where I occasionally teach courses in educational leadership. My undergraduate degree in Biology is from the State University at Fredonia, NY and my master's degree in administration and educational leadership, is from the Werner School, University of Rochester. I am an avid gardener, photographer, artist, live theater fan, genealogist, reader, and environmentalist. I also bicycle and run, but not as often as I like. Time never seems to let me enjoy my interests as much as I want. Family is very important to me so I spend as much time as I can with my nieces and nephews. I can spoil them with science trips and then send them home to let their parents answer all the questions! |
