Nazareth Neighborhood Arts Program at Nazareth                                                                              
 
First Spring session: Jan. 15- Feb. 14; 
Second session:       March 7 - Mar. 26 ;
Third session           Apr. 9 -  TBA   Help needed: assists with musical instruments, art media, photography, writing, tutoring, reading to children etc. and guiding the children safely into and out from the building.

                                                       New Opportunity!!!

 

Catholic Family Center - Looking for High School students to provide evening childcare.

 

Two programs in need of caregivers.  You can commit to all or just some evenings.  

 

·         Main responsibilities include helping the children get their dinner,

·          taking them to the restroom,

·         helping them with crafts/games and maintaining general safety.

 A staff group facilitator will be running the group and directing the volunteers on what to do.  

The programs to be served are:

 

Preventive Parenting Classes- This program meets on Wednesday evenings for 14 weeks starting January 16 and ending April 4.  The time is 4:30-7 PM at 87 N Clinton Ave.  

Adoption Support group- This program meets the third Monday evening of the month from 5:45 to 7:30 PM at 87 N Clinton.  ( Volunteers will undergo a background check and an hour long orientation.  The adoption support group works with parents, families and kids that have been adopted or have adopted siblings.  

The commitment is flexible and student friendly. 

These opportunities could be a valuable learning experience and a lesson in how Human Service organizations work within the community to strengthen families.

Service Opportunity at Monroe Community Hospital - High School volunteers are needed to help residents at Monroe-Community Hospital go to Mass!
Meet at the Auditorium at 10:30 am, then help folks get from their rooms to Mass and return them to their rooms after Mass (yes, you'll be going to Mass while you're there).  

You’ll be finished about 12:15 pm. Want to go with a group?  Join us on Sunday or go with a friend Jan 20, and/  27th!

Heritage Christian Stables                   Stables seeking volunteers
Therapeutic Riding is offered in six sessions throughout the year and volunteers may choose to participate in any or all of the sessions. Orientation, Introductory and Focused Training Sessions are provided throughout the year.   Prior to volunteering, the volunteer packet of information must be completed. Sisters of St. Joseph Mission Trip to Selma, Alabama       March 28 (Holy Thursday) - April 6th.              (8 girls only, by application)

Work with children in education setting, elderly in nutrition center, and small repairs on houses in Selma and   ruralAlabama .

Center for Youth Rochester: The Crisis Nursery  of Greater Rochester (cngr.org) has recently merged with The Center for Youth. The partnership will better serve youth and families in Monroe County who are in need of assistance. Volunteer child care shifts will be open to high school students 16 years and older. They must complete an application, have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian, complete an interview and brief training at the Nursery. There will always be staff there to assist.

 If you don’t have time to volunteer for a full week, they  always looking for field trip destinations that will host us on Thursdays or regular volunteers to come in and work with us.
