There are currently more than 90 named Scholarships in the Aquinas Institute Endowment.  These provide over $850,000 each year for tuition aid to more than 50% of our students.

Merit-Based Scholarships
Several scholarships awarded each year at the June Awards Assembly and graduation ceremony are based on student achievement and character. For information on individual scholarships, click on the corresponding link.
Academic Scholarships:
 
Junior High School Academic Scholarships

All 7th grade academic scholarships are based on the 7th grade placement/scholarship examination offered on December 4th. Scholarships will be awarded as follows:

Students ranking 1st & 2nd on the placement exam:$1,000
Students ranking 3rd - 5th on the placement exam: $750
Students ranking 6th - 10th on the placement exam:$500

The academic scholarships for 8th grade are based on students' class ranking upon completion of four marking periods in 7th grade at Aquinas Junior High School.
Students with a class ranking of #1: $1,000
Students with a class ranking of 2 & 3: $750
Students with a class ranking of 4 - 6:  $500

 

High School Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships for incoming freshmen are based on the 9th Grade Placement / Scholarship Examination offered on December 4th. Any incoming freshman scoring 85th national percentile or higher on the placement exam is guaranteed a scholarship for his or her freshman year. The scholarship breakdown is as follows:
Top Four Students on Exam:$1,000Hastings Scholarship
Students Ranking 5-14:$750AQ Academic Scholarship
Remaining Students w/ 85%ile or higher:$500AQ Academic Scholarship

The academic scholarships for sophomores, juniors and seniors are based on the previous year's Grade Point Average. The breakdown, which is the same for all three class levels, is as follows:
Students w/ class rank of #1:$1,000Hastings Scholarship
Students w/ class rank of 2 - 5:$750AQ Academic Scholarship
Students w/ class rank of 6 - 15:$500AQ Academic Scholarship

** Class rank is determined by weighted G.P.A.

 

Basilian Scholarship AwardThe Basilian Scholarship Award is a four-year free tuition scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman who exemplifies the Basilian Fathers values of Goodness, Discipline and Knowledge. The criteria for this scholarship are financial need, academic proficiency, participation in faith (student need not be Catholic), and demonstration of positive attitude toward Catholic education in the Basilian tradition. Aquinas will make available up to four scholarships for each incoming freshman class. To apply, please download a Basilian Scholarship Application. The deadline to submit an application is January 31, 2011.
