The completion of high school is a momentous milestone for any student. For an Aquinas student, commencement is truly a rite of passage, marking both academic achievement and growth in Christian character and leadership.
We consider it a privilege to work with students and parents who continually demonstrate their commitment to Catholic education and to the Aquinas Tradition of Excellence. Through your sacrifice and dedication, you have helped us provide a lifelong educational experience grounded in Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.
This year's commencement ceremony was truly special. We were honored to welcome our oldest living alumnus, 107-year-old Gerard “Jerry” Schmitt ‘34, who joined us on stage to wish the graduating class all the best in their future endeavors. Jerry also received a Proclamation from New York State!
The ceremony was blessed by Most Rev. Salvatore Matano, Bishop of Rochester. Our Salutatorian Gianna Glasgow and Valedictorian Samuel Rivellino delivered unforgettable speeches that left a lasting impression on us all. We also heard inspiring words from distinguished alumni John “Jack” DePeters ‘69 and Kevin McMahan ’02, who spoke about the importance of perseverance, the power of kindness, and the impact of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge. The ceremony concluded in true Aquinas fashion with the singing of the Alma Mater.
A heartfelt thank you to our faculty and students who presented or performed at the ceremony, all those who helped in preparation, and most importantly, to all the family and friends who showed their support and helped to make this day so special.
