Shamrock Week is a week-long fundraiser, typically in mid-March, to support the Aquinas Fund which creates opportunities for our students and faculty by funding critical operating needs such as financial aid, faculty support, the arts, athletics, facilities maintenance, and technology. Aquinas Fund gifts are what make it possible for us to keep tuition affordable for families who value Catholic education. Throughout the week, we engage in Class Challenges to compete for the coveted Shamrock Week Trophy, contribute to the community by collecting items for the Little Free Food Pantry, and announce daily raffle winners.
The Aquinas Annual Alumni Reunion Weekend, typically scheduled for late September or early October, is consistently a joyous occasion filled with reunions and camaraderie. While each weekend may vary, alumni return to our campus to reconnect with old friends, classmates, and teachers. We break bread, attend Mass, cheer on AQ teams at our sporting events, take tours led by current students to witness the school's evolution, and reminisce about our high school days.
At Aquinas, we are deeply committed to preparing our students for success beyond high school, and one way we accomplish this is through the Sophomore Mock Interviews, made possible by alumni involvement. These interviews provide students with valuable experience and feedback in a professional setting, helping them develop crucial skills for college and future careers. Alumni, who serve as interviewers, offer insights and guidance based on their own experiences, creating a meaningful connection between past and present Aquinas students. The Sophomore Mock Interviews not only prepare students for the college application process but also equip them with lifelong skills in communication, professionalism, and self-presentation.
One of the unique traditions at Aquinas is the annual Aquinas Mission Bouts, a night of fun and entertainment that supports the Basilian Fathers Mission, a non-profit organization serving underprivileged communities in Mexico and Colombia through education and evangelization, founded on the Basilian principles of goodness, discipline, and knowledge. These bouts, typically scheduled for early March, are much anticipated by the Aquinas community and are a testament to the school's dedication to service and philanthropy. Through the Mission Bouts, students learn the value of giving back to society while also fostering a sense of unity and pride within the school. The Richard Corbett ’56 Boxing Program is the only high school in the nation with an established boxing program. To watch a short video of the Mission Bouts, Click Here >>
This fun tournament directly supports scholarship aid at Aquinas and has raised more than $1.5M since its inception. Each year, the charitable funds raised help offset the rising cost of an Aquinas education, and provide deserving students an opportunity to attend Aquinas.
